Kevin SMarch 12, 2024Life In Paradise This was our 5th visit to Casa Viva since 2011, and was(as always) a fantastic experience! The peaceful serenity of the surrounding nature, all the wildlife, and the warm people make for the exact type of vacation we all look for when we travel for a Winter get away. If you're looking for a perfectly polished multi-star rated resort, this isn't it. But, if you are looking to live in a very rustic, clean, and beautifully landscaped environment where you truly live with nature, you can't do any better than Casa Viva.
Fiona ROctober 8, 2023Pure Paradise The most relaxing part of our trip. Our stay felt like sleeping in a garden by the sea. The best part was walking though the lush greenery in the morning, and starting the day with a tropical swim. Rustic, but luxurious. Walking distance in both directions to some really great restaurants on the shore as well. The kitchen was also well stocked, so we made some of our meals and ate on the veranda. I feel deeply lucky to have visited this tranquil spot. Despite its convenient location, it was private, secluded, and very peaceful.
Tara CSeptember 20, 2023Great Weekend at Casa Viva Lodge! I have lived in Costa Rica for over three decades and am always on the lookout for exactly this kind of place to stay. It has the best location, it's cozy, feels secure and the staff is lovely. Nicole, from the hotel, reached out to us prior to our stay and made us feel welcome and looked after. We rented kayaks right at the hotel and kayaked in the ocean and in a nearby estuary. They also have SUP and bicycles for rent. I recommend without hesitation for guests looking for a great location, authentic Costa Rican carretean experience.
AnnaLAugust 3, 2023Beautiful peaceful place. Great location. This place is a gem. It is situated in beautiful tropical gardens right on the most beautiful unspoilt beach. The casitas were spacious and cleaned daily. We enjoyed watching animals. Nicole was such a kind, friendly and helpful host. She gave us lots of great recommendations. A car is recommended.
Katrin KJuly 12, 2023Fantastic stay at Casa Viva Lodge Casa Viva is the perfect place to relax and to explore the area. We enjoyed watching animals from the terrace and hearing the waves during the night. Nicole was such a kind and helpful host. She even organized a fire at the beach for our daughter’s birthday which Francisco helped us with. We can highly recommend this place because the place is also clean, well maintained, and has the nicest beach you can think of.
Ricardo TJune 2, 2023Carribean Paradaise Que experiencia tan increíble volver a Casa Viva, mi casa, después de 2 años, donde fui gerente, arquitecto, host, instructor de surf, guia de tours en kayac o de snorkel, etc, por 2 años; pero esta vez como huésped. Me quede en el apartamento 5, los que están más cerca de la playa, qué super ambiente tiene esa habitación, con una terraza donde provoca estar todo el dia en la hamaca. Ni hablar de la comodidad de la cama y calidad de sabanas, almohadas, paños. Me impresiono la pulcritud y orden de la habitación. Yasmina y Maria hacen un trabajo excelente y están encima de todos los detalle para la comodidad del huésped. Qué super ambiente tiene esa habitación . Estuve mucho tiempo de mi estadia relajado acostado en la hamaca, disfrutando de la naturaleza, que paz y tranquilidad. Camine por todos los jardines , están mejor que nunca, se nota el esfuerzo de Francisco y Henry que están todo el dia trabajando en ellos, ademas de limpar la playa temprano por la mañana y sacar y recoger las sillas. También Francisco los puede llevar a pasear en kayac por el mar o por el rio. Ahora como gerente esta Nicole, que no hace mas que dar vueltas por el hotel pendiente de cada detalle. Recibiendo al los huéspedes y ofreciéndoles todo su apoyo. Muy buen trabajo ! Hice mucho snorkel , paddle , surf, y disfrute un montón la playa y de toda la zona. También tuve la suerte de que mis antiguos jefes, Luis, Enrique y mi gran amigo Mihkel, estaban por allá. Nos recordamos de muchos de los buenos momentos que pasamos, trabajando en el hotel , y para siempre mejorar la experiencia de los huéspedes. Ellos están encima de cada detalle del hotel, siempre atentos a dar el mejor servicio y experiencia posible al huésped. La verdad que los Felicito , a todo el equipo de Casa Viva, que alegria ver todas las mejorías, y proyectos ya listos y otros caminando. En mi opinión este hotel es una joya del Caribe costarricense, una experiencia que nadie se debe perder. Un abrazo grande para todos, nos vemos pronto!

Various cottages of various sizes and modernity at a range of prices. Total relaxation. A wonderful manager and staff. Perfect for families.
Mike L.March 19, 2023We still love Casa Viva!! Our yearly visit to Casa Viva Lodge did not disappoint! The gardens are still beautiful and the wildlife even more amazing. Howlers and sloths greet you every morning. The sound of the waves from the gorgeous playa creates the perfect backdrop for a great day. Calm vibes and Pura Vida attitude make for the perfect stay. Casa Viva does not disappoint!!
ERIKA LMarch 13, 2023The epitome of unreasonable hospitality Epitome of unreasonable hospitality is what we can say of Luis who is one of the owners of Casa Viva! The house we rented was very comfortable and airy and the staff was amazing. We stayed for two weeks and cooked at home and enjoyed the exquisite property with all its wildlife. Casa Viva is a bit out of town on my favorite beach -Punta Uva where the jungle meets the sea. There are a few restaurants walking distance and one can easily spend a week without any car. Highly recommended....
